Prints.

I am really happy with the outcome of both of my projects. I love the way that the whole tank man image flows, and all the pieces kind of seem to match and all have the same theme, even though i didn't try it at all. I also love the way it looks against a black background.

I also feel very content with my scans final. Although looking at it now, i wish i would have lassoed the scans and put them all on black without the white squares, i still really like how the final product looks.

Stream of Consciousness

I actually really enjoyed working on this project, and I'm satisfied with the outcome. Looking at and studying it, each individual square is like a different stream of consciousness, and the piece as a whole is like a dream. I like that when it was put together, it had a distinct palette, even though i did that unintentionally. It also flows very well, and the picture is still very clear.

Tank Man photos

Inspirational...

Watching the video on Tank Man really struck a heart string with me. It really inspired me, to be an inspiration to others. He had so much influence on the world, just by being courageous and standing up for what he believed in. Who knows what condition the world would be in today if he had kept going to wherever he was headed, and not stopped those tanks. I don't know if I could ever change the world the way he did, but if I could be an inspiration to one person the way he was to the entire world, I would say that my life was complete. That faceless, nameless hero has made a huge impression on me to never give up fighting for something that I have faith in, no matter how hopeless the situation seems.

dogs in space!?

That's crazy.

Fun && safe Halloween

This weekend, a few girls and I carved pumpkins in the lounge of my hall. I made a typical jack-o-lantern face, and painted on the back a bat, ghost, and andy warhol-style banana; just something random. I didn't get any pictures of the pumpkin because for some reason, it went rotton really really quickly, but it was pretty cool looking :).

I also decorated my door and hallway at peabody with my floor mates for the little kids that came trick-or-treating. It looked really good. We put up streamers, headstones made out of paper, and lots of other decorations.

I also dressed up thursday, friday, and saturday nights, of course!

Photoshop

is so hard to use. im in need of so much assistance right now, it's ridiculous. At least i'm good at editing pictures (I think).

Lids

For this weeks collections, I had a lot of applesauce lids. this is probably only one of 5 or so. I only had one tuna can lid, and about three NFL soup can lids. I'm really hoping that I have a lot of lids and this project turns out good. I feel that my collections are showing that I eat all the same foods all the time.

Oliver Self Portrait

While creating this self portrait in the style of Oliver, I tried to make it really stylize and simple, but still keep the original shapes of the picture that I used. I thought this project was really fun, and it challenged me a lot to think outside the box. I'm pretty satisfied with the way that it turned out, and I'm looking forward to using photoshop and learning new ways to alter and stylize pictures like this!

Oliver

I had previously posted that i was going to do my self portrait in the style of Georgia O'Keefe, but after thinking about it more, I changed my mind and am now going to do it in the stylized photography style of an artist named Oliver. His works present well composed photography, as well as advanced stylization of his photographs. He often photographs architecture, and applies basic photoshop techniques strategically to his pictures, making them grainy or sometimes very flat.

New&BetterDog

I decided that my first dog project just wasn't very good, and completely re-drew it on illustrator. I'm much more satisfied with this outcome :)

This weeks collection was a lot of repeats again. The two new additions to my collection are the top of a can of tuna, expiring June of 2012, and a pull tab top of a can of soup. The repeats included an aluminum apple sauce lid, a pink breast cancer top from yogurt, and another green Healthy Choice soup lid.
